The Branch Manager is primarily responsible for the management of sales, service and manufacturing teams; you will delegate tasks to various operational areas of the branch and set industry standards. Requirements:
* Must have management experience, sales or service industry strongly preferred

It’s amazing how things change as we grow older.  As a young one the Holiday Season was filled with nothing but utter fascination and joy.  Now, as an adult I see how a certain holiday can lead to a business owner to rejoice or cringe.  One experiencing a bit of joy this year is the retail segment.  Retailers are seeing an increase in business over past months, with shoppers lining up to score the latest in technological wonders and elsewhere parents hunt down the last of this year’s hot, must have toy.

We in the recruiting business aren’t always filled with merriment when it comes to business objectives around year’s end.  The staffing industry usually prepares for the annual lull in business around the Christmas and New Year with candidates directing their focus everywhere but their job search- .  We also see employer client’s putting their attention toward company parties, annual reviews and the year end wrap up.  This year has been different though, candidates are still coming in and willing to go out for interviews – even between Christmas and the New Year.  We also have had a rather large uptick in employer clients calling with new search assignments.  We look forward to getting candidates out and started with some of our new employer clients by year’s end!

Today, we were greeted with some surprising, and welcome, news from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  The nation’s unemployment rate is down from it’s all time high and showing signs of recovery.  Each month, I am responsible for gathering employment data, analyzing trends and reporting any relevant information.  A combination of fewer jobs in November with the rise in temporary services employment, we remain optimistic that this is the push toward recovery.

November flew by and December is off to a great start!  I wanted to share a few notes about West Coast Careers’ recent placements as a small source of encouragement and hope they serve as a small bit of motivation for those currently on the job market.

Currently, we have 6 new hires in the first weeks of their new positions with companies from Lumber Importers, Communication Giants to the Public Sector.  Here is a small sample of recent hires with area employers:
